We were excited when we saw that Carolyn Gavin has been added to the Convservatorylineup of designers, headed up by Anna Maria Horner for Free Spirit. I’ve long followed Carolyn, a Toronto designer, through her beautiful illustrations for Ecojot, a stationary company she started with her brother. Her paintings, illustrations, fabric design and everything else she does have an unmistakeable signature of bold colour, joy, an enviable looseness in her hand and a beautiful aesthetic.

We have the whole collection, including a fantastic panel.

Spark– Put the panel in the middle, embellish it with your best stitch wizardry or keep it gorgeous as it is, do a fun and playful mix of pieced squares around the outside of the panel, to the size you want. Quilt and bind and voila – you’ll have a cherished and smile inducing quilt to snuggle under in time for winter.
